African Projects

Water Schemes

When Alan first travelled to Zambia in February 2005 the Western Province was enduring one of the worst droughts in living memory.

Food Aid

At the peak of the drought afflicting the Western Province of Zambia in 2004 and 2005 funds provided by the Alan Kerins African Projects fed over 700 families in the region.  Since the drought has subsided the aim of the charity has been to promote and fund more sustainable solutions.

School Building

Whether it is the teaching of modern, effective and sustainable farming techniques or the teaching of reading and writing to local children, education is central to the goals of the Alan Kerins African Projects.

Housing Development

Another goal of the Alan Kerins African Projects is to improve the housing conditions of the communities of Mongu.
A block making project was instigated in order to construct the building materials locally as well as to provide for much needed industry and employment.  An old manual block making machine which could, at its peak, generate 280 blocks a day has been replaced by a diesel powered machine capable of making 1500 blocks a day.

Your donations have provided for the construction of secure and suitable housing for local families resulting in a huge improvement in living conditions. Thank You.
